NEO BARROCO | ORNAMENTS OF LIGHT, DRESSED IN SHADOWS

Shot in El Pescadero, Mexico’s coastal desert, Neo Barroco is a visual offering that weaves theatricality, reverence, and strangeness. Drawing from Baroque formality, the textures of embellishment, and the quiet dominance of the desert landscape, the work leans into a strange orchestration of contradictions. A living relic, adorned in symbols of past grandeur, moves through a landscape stripped of such illusions. The resulting images exist in a liminal space, where suggestion outweighs clarity and atmosphere carries the thread of an unspoken narrative. Meaning is not delivered directly but emerges through texture, composition, and the uneasy intimacy between the viewer and the image.
