GENNA CAREY

I’m Genna Carey, an interdisciplinary artist working at the intersection of dance, choreography, film, and emerging technologies. My work often begins in the body but rarely ends there.

I approach my practice with rigor, imagination, and a quiet conviction that meaning is built through process, not prestige. I’m drawn to the edge spaces, the places where disciplines blur and new forms begin to take shape.

Though I sometimes joke that I’m a “jack of all trades, master of none,” I suspect my versatility will become my greatest strength. I’ve never been content to stay in one lane. Whether I’m performing inside an AI-generated light sculpture, crafting choreography for the camera, guiding young dancers toward discovery, or reworking an idea until it breathes, I’m fully immersed in the process. Movement is the foundation of my creative process. It’s the structure that holds concept, story, and intention together.

My work rises from discomfort. From questions that resist resolution, from voices that contradict one another, and from the belief that the world is a single consciousness unfolding through infinite realities. I’m drawn to collaboration not as a method, but as a condition. A way of making sense of myself, others, and the systems we inhabit. I’m less interested in resolution than in resonance.

I’m still becoming, but I move with purpose, depth, and an insatiable curiosity for where this path leads. If you’re here, I hope it’s because you’re curious too.
