My autumn months were spent somewhere I would have never imagined- Boise, Idaho. I was brought by Lauren Edson, artistic director of LED, to take part in a huge collaborative production that premiered one night only at the Morrison Center in downtown Boise. I was lucky enough to spend a couple months in LED's space, creating and piecing together an evening length work in the studio just about everyday with Lauren and the dancers. Her husband Andrew had written all of the live music that was performed with his band, along side a live choir, behind the dancers. It was an incredible experience to put something together of that magnitude, and only to perform Waters Into Wilderness one night. It was basically a sold out show, (minus a couple seats) and the support of the community made all of the hard work more than worth it. Boise is a beautiful city and it is sure lucky to have LED there creating some innovative and collaborative work. I hope to be back sooner than later working with the company again and visiting friends I had made during my stay. Until next time...
